Today is my due date, but according to Dr. N this baby isn't coming any time soon. I'm going to ignore that sad fact and focus on happier things.
Last night Jeff and I had the best time reading through our 2012 book in bed. There was a major giggle fest when Jeff pointed out a picture that looks like he's wearing a saggy old garment top, even though he's not, I promise. I laughed so hard you'd think it would have induced labor. Our annual books really are the best thing ever.
The point is, reliving last year and remembering all the good times made me really look forward to what we have coming this year. I have set one New Year's resolution this year and I think it is one I can actually keep: Give gifts to all family members for their birthdays. (We really are the worst at this, especially to our family members that live out of state....SORRY)
Anyway, in lieu of a long list of boring resolutions, here's what I'm most looking forward to this coming year and what I plan to fully enjoy:
1. Becoming parents - I don't think this has fully hit us yet and won't until we finally meet the little guy, but this is a pretty big deal! We have a whole new kind of adventure in store for us with the addition of a baby boy. I can't wait.
2. Warm weather - Is January truly the worst or what? The answer is yes, January in Utah is the VERY worst. I will feel happier for my child if he isn't born until February. When warm weather finally shows her glorious face I will be ready to enjoy every minute of it.
And that's pretty much it. I have a one-track mind right now that consists of these two things and the million wonderful things that come with both of them. I can think of nothing better than new adventures with our little family and adjusting to life as parents - it's still so weird to me - I guess we are becoming adults after all.
I was hoping you'd put an update up! Hopefully things will get moving and your babe will be here soon! I really should do a book like that, what a priceless thing you'll have forever. Best of luck in the next few days!
