You know those shows you watched as a kid that become family favorites and they're always quoted by your siblings? One of those for Jeff's family is the Charlie Brown Halloween special, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
So when we were last minute, frantically trying to decide what to be for the annual Tucker Halloween party we host, Jeff drew his inspiration from the show. I very lamely decided to be a witch (I do have really cool green and black striped tights) and Jeff very excitedly decided he would be Pig Pen, the dirty kid in Charlie Brown that comes dressed as a dirty ghost?? My Charlie Brown knowledge is limited and I have always felt bad for that dirty, smelly kid. But we were running out of time, the Tuckers were on their way!
When Jeff came down stairs in costume and started setting the table I knew his attempt at a dirty ghost kid would be misinterpreted...can you say creepy? I laughed so hard.
The party was a success nonetheless. We were blessed with unbelievable weather so we took our pumpkin carving/painting outside to enjoy the sunshine.
Our levels of creativity reached an all-time high this year. Jeff repeated his vomiting masterpiece and I carved a total of two triangles then used a carrot for the nose. Keep it simple stupid.
I'm trying to convince Jeff to hand out candy in his Pig Pen costume tonight. Who doesn't love giving kids a good scare?
